DIY Divorce Package
Sometimes, the breakdown of the relationship is amicable and you will only need procedural guidance from us if you and your spouse agree that the divorce will not be defended and you have already resolved how financial matters are to be dealt with.
In those circumstances, we can offer you a "DIY Divorce Package" at a fixed fee.
We will prepare all the divorce forms you will need to send to court and once you have approved them we will lodge them on your behalf at the relevant court nearest to where you live.
This Package will take you through the divorce process itself and resolve any financial issues associated with the divorce. Please note that for complex or contested divorces, where the assets exceed £1.5 million (excluding pension values), we are happy to give estimates for the work involved.
We will prepare a Clean Break Agreement (or Consent Order) and lodge this on your behalf at court once you have approved it.
Clean Break Orders help tie up financial matters such as maintenance and division of property, savings, shares, insurance policies and pensions.
Please note that DIY Divorces are only practical where both you and your spouse can agree upon a fair division of assets.
Our fixed fee for the service will be £745 plus VAT plus the court fees which will be £300 for the Divorce Petition; £40 for the Decree Absolute and £40 for the Consent Order, total £1,125 plus VAT at the prevailing rate.
This fee is payable in three stages as follows:-
- Stage 1: Fee payable at initial interview £375 plus VAT
- Stage 2: Fee payable when issuing Divorce Petition £400 plus VAT
- Stage 3: Fee payable at second meeting to discuss and agree the terms of the Consent Order £350 plus VAT
